Idiopathic Neuropathy
In nearly a third of neuropathy cases, every possible attempt is made at pinpointing the cause of nerve damage and yet doctors cannot arrive at any specific conclusion. This can be difficult and frightening for the patient, and frustrating for the doctor. Such cases are categorized as idiopathic neuropathy, and they generally progress very slowly, causing general weakness in the limbs. It is possible that with lifestyle changes such as improved diet and exercise regimes, reduction of stress and limiting intake of toxins to the body, the nerve damage may reverse on its own.
